These items were collected from various police departments:

July 21 — Charles H. Giuseppe, 29, of Ellwood City, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a June 27 report of a man trying to fight people at the North Park Lounge in Cranberry Township.Police said Giuseppe was found screaming at a construction flagger, who was trying to direct him to Route 19 northbound.Police asked him to step out of the vehicle after Giuseppe informed them he was carrying a pistol. Police said field sobriety tests showed Giuseppe was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.177%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.July 21 — Jeffery Ketterer, 37, of New Brighton, was charged with a first-offense DUI, related to an April 15 report of a careless driver in the area of Route 19 and Freedom Road in Cranberry Township.Police said they found Ketterer inside a vehicle matching the license plate of the report. Police said field sobriety tests showed Ketterer was impaired, and police later found Clonazepam and a marijuana vape pen in his possession.Police said Ketterer was not able to be evaluated further because he was unable to stay awake. Police said a later blood test showed Clonazepam, marijuana and cocaine in his system.July 15 — Evan X. Smicker, 22, of Mars, was charged with a first-offense DUI, following an April 17 one-vehicle crash on Burke Road in Cranberry Township.Police said they identified Smicker as the driver, and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired. A later blood test showed Smicker's blood-alcohol content at 0.207%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.

July 20 — Katherine Fink, 37, of Pittsburgh, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a May 22 report of an intoxicated driver in the area of Perry Highway.Police said they found Fink in a gas station parking lot, struggling to maintain her balance. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later blood test showed fentanyl, norfentanyl, benzoylecgonine, acetyl fentanyl, buprenorhine and norburprenorphine in her system.

5:37 p.m. July 24 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 near its intersection with Carbon Center Road in Summit Township.Police said one of the drivers, Holli N. Kennedy, 23, of Fenelton, was taken by East Butler Ambulance from the scene for suspected serious injuries.Police said the other driver, Dorothy J. Gerber, 81, of Slippery Rock, was uninjured in the crash, but she was cited after she tried to turn left from the right lane onto Carbon Center Road. Police said when Gerber turned left, her vehicle pulled in front of Kennedy's, which was traveling in the same direction in the other lane.Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.July 21 — James R. Lerch, 25, of Cowansville, was charged with misdemeanor fleeing from police and eight traffic violations, related to an attempted traffic stop July 2 on Route 422 in Summit Township.Police said they spotted Lerch speeding at 95 mph in a 55 mph zone with a passenger on the back of his motorcycle. Police tried to pull Lerch over, but stopped because of rain and poor road conditions.Police recorded the license plate and contacted Lerch, who said he fled because “he thought that if he went fast enough, (the police) would leave him alone.”July 21 — Hunter M. Reep, 23, of Butler, was charged with a second-offense DUI, stemming from a July 3 traffic stop in the parking lot of Boltz's in Petrolia.Police said Reep stopped the vehicle for swerving in its lane on Route 68. Police said field sobriety tests showed Reep was impaired, and later breath tests were conducted. The results of those tests were not listed in the affidavit.July 12 — Harvey J. Berry, 48, of Cabot, was charged with a felony and misdemeanor charges of making a false statement while buying a gun on July 1, 2020.Police said Berry tried to buy a revolver, and he said that he had not been convicted of disqualifying crimes. Police said in 1995, Berry pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.Police said in a phone interview with Berry, he claimed he didn't know he was unable to buy the gun, and he was trying to buy the gun for hunting.July 12 — David S. Lattanzio, 56, of Butler, was charged in two separate cases, related to two failed attempts for him to buy a gun.Police said Lattanzio tried to buy a pistol July 16, 2020, from Rural King in Butler Township, and he tried again to buy a rifle on Nov. 11 from Sportsman's Supply Co. in Summit Township.Police said on both occasions, Lattanzio said that he had never been convicted of a felony and had never spent more than a one-year term in prison. Police said Lattanzio has a criminal history that included at least one-year-long prison sentence.Police said they contacted Lattanzio for each case, and he admitted to trying to buy the guns.For each case, Lattanzio has been charged with felony and misdemeanor charges of making a false statement while trying to buy a gun.
