July 20 — Joseph R. Jackson, 39, of Gibsonia, was charged with simple assault, related to a June 26 incident at GetGo on Warrendale Road in Adams Township.Police said they talked with a man who had a red mark on the side of his face. He told officers that a man exited the GetGo and knocked on his window. He allegedly said when he rolled the window down, the man yelled at him about parking in a handicap spot and then hit him in the face.Police said they identified Jackson as the suspect through security footage.July 20 — Edwin N. Vasquez, 28, of Mars, was charged with leaving the scene of a July 2 two-vehicle crash on Route 228 in Adams Township.Police said a woman called, claiming her vehicle was rear-ended, and the truck that did it drove off. Police allegedly later found Vasquez driving the truck that hit the woman's vehicle. Police said they tried to speak with Vasquez about the crash, but a language barrier prevented further investigation.Police said Vasquez was not a licensed driver.

July 21 — Cindy L. Anderson, 41, of Butler, was charged with leaving the scene of two May 10 vehicle crashes on Route 8 in Butler.Police said Anderson hit two different cars, but continued driving. Police said one of the witnesses followed her to Spring Street, where she parked the car and fled on foot.Police said they contacted the registered owner, who was unaware of the hit-and-run crashes, but said Anderson had borrowed the vehicle. Police said when they spoke with Anderson, she admitted to borrowing the car and hitting the other vehicles.July 21 — Julie L. Cranmer, 52, of Butler, was charged with simple assault, related to an alleged assault.Police said Cranmer's boyfriend called police from the hospital, where he sought treatment for injuries, after Cranmer head-butted him in the face. Police found Cranmer at the boyfriend's home and arrested her.8:24 a.m. July 20 — Police responded to a report of an unconscious man on the 300 block of North Chestnut Street.Police allegedly found Christopher B. Carter, 33, of Butler, to be that man, and they later charged him with possession of a controlled substance.Police said Carter was later searched and was found with six full stamp bags of suspected heroin.On July 26, Carter pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge.July 20 — Wesley H. Frank Jr., 37, of Butler, was charged with giving police false identification, related to a July 6 arrest in Rotary Park in Butler.Police said Frank had a warrant for his arrest, and when they found him in the park, he told officers he was “Kristopher Smythe.”July 20 — William Hockenberry, 59, of Butler, was charged with simple assault, stemming from an altercation with his girlfriend.Police said the girlfriend told police Hockenberry grabbed her by the arm and then beat her with a shoe. Police said the girlfriend had red marks on her arm and the back of her elbow.July 20 — Police visited Austin D. Pesca, 27, of Butler, as part of an investigation unrelated to the charges they brought against him later that day, which included possession of a controlled substance, related to a July 20 investigation.Police said they visited the intersection of Broad and West New Castle street in Butler to speak with Pesca about a separate investigation. Police said while bringing Pesca to the station for the interview, officers smelled marijuana. Police said they searched bags Pesca had with him, and they found 10 marijuana pipes, three syringes and one stamp bag of suspected heroin.On July 26, Pesca pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.July 15 — Brian Tristani, 47, of Sarver, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a July 15 traffic stop on Jefferson Street in Butler.Police said they were flagged down by a witness, who claimed they noticed Tristani in his still-running truck throwing up and with his eyes rolling back into his head. Police said they found Tristani slumped in his vehicle, and after running his information, found his license was suspended.Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and later a marijuana pipe and a snorting straw were found in the center console of the vehicle.Police said Tristani later refused to have his blood tested.
