Experts say tornado touched down Monday south of Cranberry Township, Seven Fields area

Weather experts say a tornado touched down Monday afternoon, in Pine Township, Allegheny County, and near its border with Butler County.

“70 mph wind (was) estimated in the tornado near Mt. Pleasant and Dean roads,” the National Weather Service said in a tweet Tuesday afternoon.

The service said the tornado was an EF0, which has winds of 65 to 85 miles per hour. The service reported no injuries or deaths related to the tornado.

According to a Weather Service news release, the tornado touched down around 2:55 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in Pine Township, just south of the Seven Fields and Cranberry Township areas.

The touchdown site is so close to the border that residents along that road have a Mars mailing address.

The service listed the end point around the 400 block of Warrendale Road, Pine Township.
