Four days of continuous live performances while BBQ pit masters serve up sizzling ribs, chicken and more. Last held in 2019, Johnson's Bar-B-Que won for best ribs, Cowboys won for best sauce and Carolina Rib King took the people's choice trophy.

Bantam Jeep Heritage FestivalJune 11 to June 13Cooper's Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057Downtown Butler- $10 Admission$3 for childrenA tribute event for the father of all jeeps, the history behind it, the people who created it and its birthplace, Butler, Pa. Family-friendly event held at Coopers Lake Campground on the second weekend of June every year since 2015. New to the event in 2021 will be a Duck Dash on Saturday. Anyone can now buy a number to be placed on a military-themed rubber ducky, which will be collected into a squeaky flock and dumped down a hill, and the owners of the first three rubbery racers to cross the finish line will win $300, $200 and $100, respectively.

Mars Area High School senior Madison Myers was named the Big Butler Fair Queen in 2019. The Fair Queen Pageant for this year will be held on June 15.

Mega CruiseJuly 10Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport, 473 Airport Rd.$2 AdmissionThis year the Mega Cruise will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The event, slated from 2 to 10 p.m., includes food, music and fireworks, and benefits the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Butler Bikes & BBQJuly 22 to July 25Butler Farm Show Grounds , 625 Evans City Road, Butler, PA 16001FreeA first of its kind, four-day event filled with motorcycles, food and merchandise vendors, bike accessories and live entertainment. A motorcycle parade into the Butler Farm Show Grounds will open the event on Thursday. The event was set to debut last summer, but was postponed and ultimately canceled because of the pandemic.

Portersville SteamSummer ShowAug. 5 to Aug. 8Showgrounds, 1512 Perry Highway, Portersville, PA 16051FreeOne of three yearly steam shows, includes gas and steam engines, tractors, pedal power, steam building and tractor pulls. The 2021 Fall Fling is scheduled for Oct. 2 and 3.

Moraine State Park RegattaAug. 6 to Aug. 8Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville, PA 16051FreeFormerly called the Regatta at Lake Arthur, an annual event celebrated the first weekend in August. Offers land and lake activities along with exciting new opportunities to enjoy the natural resources of the park. The event was expanded to three days for this summer, one more day than usual. This summer's Regatta will have an increased focus on accessible events that anyone can try at any time in the park.

Butler Farm ShowAug. 9 to Aug. 14Butler Farm Show, 625 Evans City Road, Butler, PA 16001A showcase of Butler County's farming community that includes judging, exhibits and demonstrations, animals and truck and tractor pulls. 2020 was the first time in 71 years the Farm Show had been canceled.

Cruise-a-PaloozaAug. 15Downtown Butler PAFree25th annual Cruise-a-Palooza, the biggest car cruise of the year. Traditionally held on the third Sunday in June but moved this year to Aug. 15. Thousands of attendees gazed upon hundreds of classic, custom and cool cars the last time the event was held in 2019.

North Washington RodeoAug. 17 to Aug. 212225 Oneida Valley Road, Petrolia, PA 16050$16 Gate Tickets$7 KidsDubbed the “greatest show on dirt,” the five-day rodeo drew crowds from all over the state to raise money for the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department in 2019.

Mars Exploration DaysAug. 27 to Aug. 28Downtown Mars, Pittsburgh and Grand Avenue, Mars, PA 16046FreeCelebrates the New Year on the planet Mars highlighting innovation and exploration. Two days of STEAM — science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics — activities. The event is held every 687 Earth days, the equivalent of one Martian year. The last Martian New Year was on Feb. 7, 2021 but this summer's celebration will begin on Aug. 27.

Band Jam Grass Roots Music FestivalAug. 27 to Aug. 28Cooper's Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057Weekend tickets $25 ($30 at gate)Free for children 17 and underCreated to commemorate the yearly anniversary of the “Grass Roots Show,” which airs Sunday nights at 7 p.m. on The Rock Station 97.7 FM.

Butler Italian FestivalAug. 27 to Aug. 29Cunningham Street to Brady Street, Butler, PAFreeA three-day celebration of all things “molto Italiano.” Music, food, friends, family and fine wines. The festival has grown every year, drawing a crowd of more than 25,000 in 2018 and adding a second music stage in 2019.
