The medical staff at Allegheny Health Network's Allegheny Valley Hospital is offering two $2,500 Medical Scholarship Grants to students enrolled in an approved U.S. medical or osteopathic school.

Eligible applicants must be residents of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler or Westmoreland counties and have not received a prior AVH Medical Scholarship Grant.

In order to be considered for the scholarship, each applicant must submit two letters: one explaining why he/she should be awarded the grant, and a second letter from their educational institution stating they are in good standing. Letters may be sent to:

Mars High School students who are taking an Advanced Placement course and are planning to take the corresponding AP exam should know exams will be administered either in-person or online between May 4 and 19.The exams for biology, calculus AB, computer science A, computer science principles, English language and composition, physics 1 and physics 2 will be held in school.The AP exams for English literature and composition, European history and U.S. history will be offered online.A complete schedule of all exam dates and times is available on the “Mars Area High School” page of www.marsk12.org.
