Gresgott fans 14 in SR win

Paige Gresgott struck out 14 in tossing a four-hitter and delivered the game-winning hit as Slippery Rock defeated Titusville, 5-3, in softball Tuesday night.

The Rockets scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the win. Gresgott had a two-run single to end it. Kinzie Miller and Gresgott had two hits each.

Morgan Wise scored four goals, but Freeport dropped a 19-8 decision to North Hills.Addy Bowers scored three goals and Saige Smith added one. Hayley Smieszek made six saves. The Yellowjackets host Fox Chapel at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Cade Wheeler had 14 kills, but Butler dropped a 3-2 decision to Hempfield. Scores were 22-25, 16-25, 25-16, 25-21, 12-15.Carson Stein had 16 passes and Kaleb Wojner 35 assists for the Golden Tornado (3-4, 2-1), who travel to Fox Chapel Saturday.
