Sunday — Police charged Samuel A. Bellis, 24, of Allison Park, with a first-offense DUI, along with summary traffic violations.According to charging documents, police were investigating a report of a reckless driver around 8:13 p.m. Saturday.Police said they found Bellis asleep in the back of his pickup. Police said after waking him, Bellis smelled of alcohol and needed to lean on the vehicle while talking with them.The documents state Bellis showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test. Police searched the truck and found a cold, half-full can of Truly Hard Selzer in the console cup holder.After his arrest, police took Bellis to the state police barracks in Butler for breath testing, which he then refused.Bellis was released on a nonmonetary bail amount, and he is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing March 10.

Tuesday — Police charged Brent R. Rodgers, 25, of Cranberry, with a first-offense DUI as well as multiple summary violations.According to charging documents, police initiated a traffic stop Feb. 28 on a Chevrolet pickup traveling east on Kiester Road.Police said during the stop, they noticed Rodgers had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.The documents said Rodgers showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test, after which he was taken to the station. While at the station, Rodgers completed a breath test, which allegedly showed a blood-alcohol content of .116%. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21.

1:16 p.m. Monday — Police arrested Leslie Fairweather, 31, of Butler, on suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession.The charges stemmed from a traffic stop near the intersection of Dime Road and Route 66 in Bethel Township, Armstrong County.Police said after finding the driver to be impaired, they searched the 2006 Saturn Ion and found marijuana inside.Armstrong County court records do not show any charges filed yet in the case.4:55 p.m. Saturday — Police arrested Jay Stenzel, 46, of East Brady, for suspicion of DUI.Police were dispatched to a report of an erratic driver on Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township.Police said they watched the driver and passenger switch seats before the traffic stop.Police said while talking with Stenzel, who at that time was in the passenger seat, they found him to be impaired and arrested him.Police said they also arrested the woman who was in the driver seat for suspicion of DUI.Stenzel's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 31.10:55 a.m. Feb. 25 — One driver was charged in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 422 and Blaney Road in Kittanning Township.Police said Joanna L. Skrzypek, 75, of Butler, was driving a 2017 Subaru Forrester east on Route 422, when it was hit by a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Kayla R. Rhoades, 28, of Export.No one was injured in the crash.Police said Skrzypek slowed down to turn left, and Rhoades did not slow down. Police said Rhoades swerved to avoid an accident, but her car's front driver's side bumper hit the passenger side door of Skrzypek's SUV.Rhoades was charged with following too closely.10:30 a.m. Feb. 25 — A 23-year-old Freeport man was arrested and charged with strangulation.Police responded to a 911 hangup call on Third Avenue in Ford City, which they found to be a domestic incident.The victim was a 23-year-old woman from Ford City.

3:49 p.m. Monday — Both drivers were charged in a two-car crash on North Pike Road, Jefferson Township.Police said Andrew A. Timko, 18, of Cabot, drove his 2006 Ford F-150XLT through a red light and hit a 2017 Ford F-250 Supercab driven by Ryan A. Neely, 35, of Boyers.There were no injuries in the crash, which included two passengers in Neely's truck.Timko was charged with the traffic violation, and Neely was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license.Monday — Police charged Laura C. Brownfield, 38, of Sarver, with a first-offense DUI, along with summary traffic violations.According to charging documents, police were dispatched at 10:05 p.m. for a one-vehicle crash near 1050 Cornplanter Road, Winfield Township.Police said at the scene they found a 2021 Toyota Camry crashed into a tree and Brownfield sitting on the ground in front of the car.Police said they smelled alcohol, heard Brownfield slur her words and saw she had watery, bloodshot eyes.Brownfield told police she had swerved to avoid a deer on the road, and she admitted to drinking that night.The documents said Brownfield showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test, and she later received a .135 blood-alcohol content reading on a breath test.Brownfield's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 5.
