The Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., is celebrating April 22’s Earth Day this spring by offering children free trees.

Since 2010, the Annual Neighborhood Forest free tree program has reached more than 60,000 families and planted more than 30,000 mostly urban and residential trees through the hands of children and parents across North America.

Fill out the online registration form by March 19 and receive a free tree (6-12 inches in size) during Earth Week April 22-30.

Trees will be delivered to the library, which will arrange to get the trees in the hands of children on or around Earth Day.

Planting instructions and species information will be emailed a few days prior to the trees arriving.
