John Bonaguro is a founding dean of the new College of Health Professions at Slippery Rock University.

SRU officials announced Bonaguro will serve in an interim capacity until the College of Health Professions, the university's fifth college, is established in fall 2022.Bonaguro was the founding dean of Western Kentucky University's College of Health and Human services from 2003 until his retirement in 2016.He also served from 2016 to 2017 as an interim associate dean of continuing and professional education at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Conn.Bonaguro said he was attracted to SRU because it is student- and faculty-focused as well as the enthusiastic and supportive administration leading the new college.Abby Zink, SRU provost and vice president for academic affairs, said she is excited for Bonaguro to bring his leadership, develop a strategic plan and set the college up for many years of success.
