PNC Bank announced that four of its branches will close in the region May 21, including its branch in Slippery Rock University.

The company, PNC Financial Services Group Inc., revealed the closures in its recent annual regulatory filings. The Slippery Rock University location is open for only two days a week, according to its posted hours, and the branch couldn’t be reached for comment.

In the bank’s filing, it notes that “most corporate and commercial transactions are now handled electronically, and our retail customers increasingly use online access and mobile devices to bank with us.”

The company couldn’t be reached for comment.
