Police charge 2 in stabbing

A Butler man and a friend were charged following a domestic dispute at their Mercer County trailer park home, according to police.

Police responded to a domestic dispute in Pine Township on Feb. 22 between Stacy J. McConahy, 35, of Grove City and Ryan P. Ehrman, 20, of Butler.

McConahy stabbed Ehrman, according to police, and McConahy took him to Butler Memorial Hospital. McConahy is in Mercer County Prison on a $25,000 bond for felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and summary harassment. Ehrman was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and a summary harassment.

McConahy told police that he and Ehrman both woke up in “irritated moods” and had bickered all morning.

The mood eventually turned violent, according to the report, as the two began to push, shove, wrestle and pull each other's hair in the bedroom. The fight moved to the living room, where Ehrman got on McConahy's back and pulled his hair. McConahy grabbed what police described as a utility knife razor blade, stabbing Ehrman in the chest and left arm.

Ehrman had “deep gash wounds,” police said, and he had to get staples to close the wounds to his chest and arm.
