Monday — Rae L. Holderman, 31, of Pitcairn, Allegheny County, was charged with having heroin earlier in the month at a home on the 400 block of West North Street. Officers found her shortly before 8 p.m. Feb. 11 when they went to the home on a welfare check call.Holderman is accused of having two stamp bags of suspected heroin. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.Monday — Police charged a woman with stealing a dog from its owner on East Wayne Street earlier this month. The suspect, Melodie M. Deal, 27, who has no known address, allegedly took the victim's mixed breed dog “Luna” on Feb. 7.Deal is charged with a misdemeanor count of theft.Monday — Madison E. Stephenson, 20, of East Butler, was charged with making 10 fraudulent returns of merchandise between Nov. 22, 2020, and Feb. 3 while working at the Rite Aid store on South Main Street. The transactions totaled $314.15.Stephenson is charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of theft by deception.1:29 p.m. Feb. 16 — Rachael M. Galbreath, 27, of Butler, allegedly struck her ex-boyfriend in the face during a domestic dispute at his home on the 200 block of West Penn Street. Police said the victim suffered swelling and a small amount of blood on his lower lip.Galbreath is charged in an arrest warrant with simple assault.11:26 p.m. Feb. 15 — Police said Brandon M. Tressler, 31, of Butler, was found with a stamp bag of suspected heroin while being booked into Butler County Prison. He had been taken to the prison on an out-of-county bench warrant.Tressler is charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance by an inmate.

Friday — Tyler B. Raling, 28, of Pittsburgh, was charged with drugged driving stemming from a crash last month on Route 68 east of Barracks Road. Police said he lost control of his vehicle around 3:45 p.m. Jan. 10, crossed over oncoming traffic lanes and hit a utility pole.An officer noted that when he got to Raling's vehicle, he noticed four stamp bags of suspected drugs sticking out of a heating vent, according to court documents. Police later took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.Toxicology reports indicated that Raling had marijuana, fentanyl and norfentanyl in his system, documents said. He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving a vehicle without insurance and without valid inspection, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.4:37 p.m. Feb. 14 — Holly L. Ellis, 50, of Butler, was caught allegedly shoplifting $72 worth of Valentine's Day merchandise at the Moraine Pointe Plaza Giant Eagle store. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

6 p.m. Sunday — Joseph T. Anderson, 25, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their Maple Court home.The victim told police that Anderson struck her in the face with the back of his hand and punched her in the back of the head at least four times, according to court documents. Police noted that when they spoke to the woman she had fresh blood running from the nose, dried blood around the lips, and her face was discolored and swollen.Anderson denied assaulting the victim, and he claimed that she attacked him, police said, District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned him on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bond following arraignment.4 p.m. Saturday — Michael A. Harter, 50, of Forward Township, was arrested after police said he got into an altercation inside and outside a Route 19 bar. The incident at Marty's Suburban bar started when he got into a flap with another patron.After the female bartender told him to leave, according to court documents, he threw a beer bottle at her. Outside, he is accused of punching the female owner in the face, causing her pain.District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned Harter on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. He is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.

5:41 p.m. Feb. 17 — The extended dump bed of a Mack truck struck an overhead cable line in front of Thrower Concrete on Saxonburg Boulevard just north of Rachel Drive in Clinton Township. The crash snapped off the cable. No one was injured.Police did not release the name of the driver, who had just completed dumping a load of gravel at the business and the dump bed failed to lower as the truck traveled north on Saxonburg Boulevard.According to a police report, live power lines did not fall, but the concrete plant lost power, prompting a West Penn Power crew to respond to the business.Feb. 17 — A catalytic converter, valued at $1,000, was stolen from a Ford F250 Super Duty pickup truck at Platinum Service Center on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. The theft occurred between Feb. 7 and Feb. 17.Police said they are reviewing video surveillance as part of their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Feb. 16 — The owners of Moore Mini Storage on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township reported that the locks and latches of two units were cut. Police said it was not immediately known if any items were missing from the units.A police report also noted that a similar crime occurred at an unspecified storage business in Slippery Rock Township. It was unknown if the incidents are related. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Police advised anyone who rents storage units to regularly check on their property.

6:34 a.m. Friday — No one was injured when a sport utility vehicle driven by Joshua D. Mack, 27, of Indiana, Pa., struck the driver's side of another SUV while attempting to pass it on Route 28 south at the Slate Lick exit in south Buffalo Township. Joyce L. Barber, 60, of Kittanning, was the other driver. Mack's car had to be towed.
