1:34 p.m. Feb. 7 — Austin M. Weisenstein, 23, of Butler, lost control of his car and struck a tree along Chicora Fenelton Road in Donegal Township. No one was injured. Police cited Weisenstein for disregarding traffic lanes.10:21 p.m. Feb. 6 — A car slid on the ice and into a home while backing out of a driveway on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. William D. Borza, 18, of Glenshaw, the driver, was not injured.Feb. 4 — Dalton J. Bly, 26, of Chicora, was arraigned on charges he was two-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from a single-vehicle wreck last month on Main Street in Karns City. Police said his pickup truck struck an unspecified pole along Main Street in Karns City around 11:15 p.m. Jan. 19. He apparently was not injured.Police later took him for a breath test, which allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.202 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Bly was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and carelessness. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.8:59 p.m. Feb. 3 — Quinn N. Long, 42, of Harrisville, was arrested for suspected drugged driving after a traffic stop on Halston Road near Route 8 in Brady Township. She was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which he refused, police said.Long was arraigned on a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving, reckless driving, failing to keep right and a rear-lighting violation. She was released on her own recognizance following arraignment.Jan. 20 — Police charged a Venango County woman with drugged driving in connection with a traffic stop earlier in the month in Center Township. Kara A. Coogan, 31, of Oil City, was stopped about 1:20 a.m. Jan. 3 in the area of Route 8 and Muddy Creek Road.She was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed she had prescription medication and marijuana in her system, and her blood-alcohol level was 0.034 percent.Coogan is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and speeding. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Jan. 12 — Bryan J. Fry, 26, of Concord Township, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana in connection with a June traffic stop on Petrolia. Police said he was pulled over about 2:10 a.m. June 28 at South Argyle and Reimer streets.Fry was eventually taken for a blood test that indicated her blood-alcohol level was 0.102 percent. Lab results also showed he had marijuana in his system.He is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, DUI and disregarding traffic lanes.Jan. 4 — Jeremy N. Agostino, 41, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felony shoplifting stemming from a December incident at Dunham's Sports at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. He is accused of taking a crossbow valued at $500 as well as a baseball helmet and other merchandise Dec. 31.Agostino, who has at least three convictions for shoplifting, is charged with a felony count of retail theft. In Pennsylvania, while normally a summary or misdemeanor offense, retail theft is upgraded to a third-degree felony regardless of the stolen property's value when a defendant has at least two prior convictions for the same crime.Dec. 23 — Sherry L. Doane, 37, of Kittanning, was arraigned on charges she illegally attempted to purchase a handgun earlier in 2020 at the Clearview Mall Rural King store in Center Township. Police said she provided false information on a required background check form May 16 when she tried to buy a .38-caliber revolver.Doane is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. She is free on her own recognizance.

1:42 p.m. Thursday — Timothy S. Kriebel, 61, of Emlenton, was injured when he lost control of his pickup truck and struck a group of trees along Route 322 in Rockland Township. He was taken to UPMC Northwest hospital in Seneca with unknown injuries.Kriebel's pickup had to be towed. Police cited him for disregarding traffic lanes and not wearing a seat belt.7:51 a.m. Feb. 2 — No one was injured in a two-rig wreck in Clinton Township, Venango County. The crash happened when a tractor-trailer driven by Yuda T. Kyekulidde, 35, of Cambridge, Mass., collided with another rig as the vehicles were traveling next to each other on Interstate 80.Police said Kyekulidde did not immediately stop after the crash and got off the interstate at Emlenton. He was subsequently identified and cited for failing to stop and give information and render aid after an accident and disregarding traffic lanes.

7:20 p.m. Feb. 2 — Zachary M. Zeller, 23, of Kittanning, lost control of his minivan and crashed on the Route 422 east on-ramp at Franklin Hill Road in East Franklin Township. Zeller and his four children, three of them ages 1, 5, and 7, were not injured.The van had to be towed. Police cited Zeller for driving too fast for conditions.

Feb. 1 — Police charged Nicholas J. Burns, 41, of Grove City, with having drugs and related contraband last fall at his home on Barkeyville Road in Pine Township, Mercer County.The drugs and other items were initially found Nov. 23 by state probation and parole agents, according to a police report.Burns is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana and seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
