Sentencing

Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences Feb. 4:

Dylan Tanner Borsuk, 22, of Beaver Falls, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in jail, a $1,000 fine and 20 hours of community service for driving under the influence. Borsuk was immediately paroled with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Borsuk was charged May 29, 2018, and pleaded guilty Jan. 6.

Jason C. Persinger, 41, of Grove City, was sentenced to one to five years in jail and to pay $2,000 in fines for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, DUI-related. Persinger was immediately paroled with the first year on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Persinger was charged July 21 and pleaded guilty Jan. 4.

Travis Clyde Sanderson, 31, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to 90 to 180 days in jail, a $1,500 fine and 4-and-a-half years of probation for driving under the influence. Sanderson was immediately paroled with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Sanderson was charged May 4 and pleaded guilty Dec. 7.

Jeremiah John Mackey, 24, of Chicora, was sentenced to nine months of probation for theft by deception. He must pay $975 in restitution. He was charged Feb. 20, 2019, and pleaded guilty Jan. 4. In a second case, Mackey was sentenced to nine months of probation for theft by deception. He must pay $800 in restitution. He was charged Feb. 9, 2019, and pleaded guilty Jan. 4.

Ryan J. Hart, 34, of Butler was sentenced to one year of probation for simple assault. Hart was charged July 29 and pleaded guilty Jan. 11.

Dustin Lee Stoner, 26, of Rochester, was sentenced to one year of probation for unauthorized use of motor vehicles. Stoner was charged Aug. 12 and pleaded guilty Jan. 11.

Matthew A. Hertzig, 39, of Butler, was sentenced one year minus a day to two years minus two days, as well as two years of probation for simple assault and reckless endangerment. Hertzig was charged Dec. 16, 2019, and pleaded no contest Jan. 27.

Charles D. Schweinsberg, 38, of Butler, was sentenced to nine to 23 and a half months in jail, $1,300 in fines for driving under the influence, receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended license. Schweinsberg was immediately paroled. He was charged May 16 and pleaded guilty Jan. 21.

Zeke S. Grant, 21, of Cranberry Township, was sentenced to a total of 15 to 36 months in prison for firearm not to be carried without a license and possession of a controlled substance. Grant was charged July 10 and pleaded guilty Jan. 5. In a second case, Grant was sentenced to nine months to two years in prison for criminal attempt to possess with the intent to deliver. The two cases are running simultaneously. Grant was charged July 29 and pleaded guilty Jan. 5.

Danielle McWilliams, 46, of Saxonburg, was sentenced to one year of probation and a $100 fine for criminal conspiracy to commit theft. McWilliams was charged July 18, 2019, and pleaded guilty Jan. 11.

David R. Barlow, 47, of Butler, was sentenced to 30 days to six months in jail, a $750 fine and 25 hours of community service for driving under the influence. Barlow was immediately paroled with the first 42 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. Barlow was charged Dec. 29, 2019, and pleaded guilty Nov. 16.

Brandy M. Gibson, 21, of Weirton, W.Va., was sentenced to nine months of probation and must pay $1,049 as a joint restitution with her co-defendant for retail theft. Gibson was charged Jan. 30, 2020, and pleaded guilty Jan. 11.

Tammy L. Simmons, 55, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, was sentenced to nine months of probation for retail theft and must pay a $35 restitution order. Simmons was charged Jan. 6, 2020, and pleaded guilty Dec. 21.

Sabrina V. Brandon, 49, of Chicora, was sentenced to 3 to 12 months in jail, 18 months of probation and a $300 fine for driving under the influence and possessing phenylpropanolamine, or a precursor substance with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance. Brandon was immediately paroled after getting credit for time already served. Brandon was charged Jan. 1, 2020, and pleaded guilty Jan. 12.

Tyler J. Vaughn, 27, of West Sunbury, was sentenced to nine months of probation for criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft. Vaughn was charged Nov. 2, 2018, and pleaded guilty Jan. 13.
