Kenneth J. Baxter, 94, of Butler, Pennsylvania

Kenneth J. Baxter, 94, of Butler passed away on Feb. 5, 2021, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Butler, and was the son of the late Joseph Baxter and the late Anne Anthony Baxter.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Okinawa, Japan.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Kenneth worked as a truck driver/ dispatcher for Don Martin Trucking.

He enjoyed hunting, camping and gambling.

Kenneth is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Lynn, whom he married on Feb. 19, 1959, and who passed away on Nov. 9, 2009; one son, Scott Baxter, who passed away on June 12, 2016; three brothers, Ernest Baxter, James Baxter and Ron Baxter; and three sisters, Sue Shearer, Betty Sarvey and Jean Scott.

BAXTER — Friends of Kenneth J. Baxter, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117, American Legion 778, and VFW Post 249 will conduct full military honors.A private burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.Due to COVID-19 state guidelines, visitors are required to supply and wear a facial mask and adhere to social distancing.
