Seneca Valley junior Veronica Pimenova is the founder of Seneca Valley’s first-ever Women in Engineering CyberPatriot team which placed in the Gold Division, the second-highest division possible.
CyberPatriot is an Air Force Association cybersecurity competition that is held globally each year. Along with Veronica, members of the team include juniors Courtney Beals and Vivian Palmer and senior Dilini Ra-naweera.
CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to the nation’s future.

Grove City College student Shelton Brower of Boyers and classmates claimed $6,100 in prizes in the Elevator Pitch Competition.Winners of the 2020 Elevator Pitch Competition gained invaluable experience at Grove City College’s annual contest.The competition, organized and hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship + Innovation (E+I), challenges students to convincingly and comprehensively present their ideas for a new commercial or social enterprise in just two minutes — about the time an entrepreneur would have to impress an investor during an elevator ride.Due to COVID-19, the competition was held online, with students making their pitches to a three-judge panel via video.
