As frightening and sad as the former President Donald Trump-incited white nationalist insurrection on our Capitol was on Jan. 6, it was even more chilling to hear from the media that the traitors may have had help from people inside our government.

I know I speak for all my fine Butler County citizens when I say that I’d be very, very disappointed if it ever came out that we are sending representatives to Harrisburg and to Washington, D.C. who don’t fully believe in and fight for equal rights, equal opportunity and equal justice for every single Butler County and U.S. citizen.

If we have, then I also hope, as a last act of whatever patriotism those reps might feel, they immediately resign their offices.
