Knoch H.S. closes until Monday because of COVID-19
Although students have only been back to class since Jan 11, Knoch High School will close until Monday because it has reached a case count of five.
David Foley, superintendent, announced on Wednesday that he received reports of two students at the high school who have tested positive for COVID-19.
The school already had three cases and was required by state officials to close for three days should they reach five cases.
Foley said high school students will learn at home for the rest of the week and return on Monday.
“All Knoch High School activities are canceled until Monday as well,” Foley said in a message to parents.
He noted that the closure will not affect the middle school, intermediate elementary or primary center, where students can continue to attend classes.
Foley said at the January school board meeting that he worried about classes starting and stopping if the maximum number of cases was reached in the district's schools.
