Westminster College lives up to its ranking

Westminster College’s national recognition confirms what its students, employees and alumni have known all along: the New Wilmington, Pa., institution is one of the best liberal arts colleges around.

After measuring student retention, graduation rates and the caliber of the faculty, U.S. News & World Report named Westminster as one of America’s best national liberal arts colleges in its “Best Colleges 2021” rankings.

Westminster’s commitment to positioning students for success also earned the college the No. 14 national slot in U.S. News’ “Social Mobility” list, which measures how well schools graduate students who receive federal Pell Grants, a form of need-based federal financial aid.

Dedicated to attracting students from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and seeing them through to graduation is a longstanding tradition at Westminster. Special programming, Pell Grants and other need-based and merit scholarships make a Westminster education affordable and accessible.

Westminster also earned a spot on the “Best Liberal Arts Colleges” list in Washington Monthly’s “2020 College Guide and Rankings,” which rates colleges based on what they do for the country rather than wealth, exclusivity and prestige. Washington Monthly also named Westminster a “Best Bang for the Buck College” for helping nonwealthy students obtain marketable degrees at affordable prices.

Money magazine also named Westminster a “Best College for Your Money” based on quality of education, affordability and alumni financial success.

Westminster offers more than 50 majors and programs of study, as well as four master’s programs.
