Snow falls in southern Butler County

A fast-moving storm was expected to leave one or two inches of snow on the ground in the southern half of the county Saturday.

“We have a little bit of a trough going through,” said Michael Brown, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh Saturday.. “You may pick up a very quick inch especially south of the city over the next one to three hours,”

He said southern communities like Saxonburg, Cranberry Township and Zelienople will see the most snow, while the rest of the county will see flurries Saturday.

The flurries could drop as much as another inch of snow through Sunday morning, he said.
