Butler Catholic will learn remotely
A first-grade class at Butler Catholic will learn remotely due to a positive COVID-19 test.
According to the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, a “person associated with the class” tested positive for COVID-19, causing the diocese to move the one first-grade class to virtual learning.
The diocese did not specify if the person was a student or a teacher, and it did not say when the person tested positive or if the person was symptomatic.
No other class at Butler Catholic is affected.
The change with the first-grade class is part of a number of changes around the 39 schools run by the diocese.
The North Catholic High School boys’ soccer team will emerge from quarantine Monday, roughly two weeks after a potential exposure to COVID-19 at a match.
A diocesan press release noted that all 27 people affiliated with the team quarantined as a result, and students will return to classes Monday. Practices and matches will resume immediately, as well.
