Missing Clearfield woman found Saturday night

Brittany Omstead, 24, was last heard from at 12:30 p.m. Friday, two hours after her mother dropped her off at her residence, according to her mother.

Update: Brittany Omstead, a 24-year-old Clearfield Township woman who went missing Friday, was found alive Saturday night, according to a since-deleted Tweet by Pennsylvania State Police.

The Tweet, which was previously posted on the PSP Troop D public information officers' account, indicated Omstead was in "fair" condition, but did not elaborate or state where she was found.

Friends and family are searching for a Clearfield Township woman who has been missing since early Friday afternoon.

Brittany Omstead, 24, was last heard from at 12:30 p.m. Friday, two hours after her mother dropped her off at her residence. Meredith Mays, a friend of Omstead's, is organizing a search party to search more than 200 acres in Worth Township, near Slippery Rock.

State police would not immediately comment.

Mays said Omstead's mother received a couple of phone calls from Omstead's phone and, when she answered, nobody was on the other line. Omstead's cell phone and truck keys were still at her residence, and Mays said police confiscated the phone and her truck and car, as well.

This is a developing story.
