Knoch girls tennis team advances to WPIAL final

Knoch's girls tennis team overwhelmed South Park in a 5-0 sweep in a WPIAL Class 2A semifinal at Butler High School Wednesday afternoon.

Laura Greb, Brooke Bauer and Emily Greb each won in singles play.

The duos of Ally Bauer/Ava Santora and Jade Nether/Lindsey Greb dominated in doubles action.The Knights (12-0) will face three-time defending WPIAL champion Sewickley Academy in the district final at 3 p.m. Thursday at Shady Side Academy.Sewickley has also won two straight state championships, defeating Knoch in the final last year.

Karns City closed the regular season with a 5-0 win over Brookville.Dakota King scored three goals, while Owen Collwell and Myles McCully both scored once for the Gremlins (11-1-1).<b>Slippery Rock 1, Sharon 0 —</b> Ethan Folmer scored for the Rockets (5-8-2).
