Police say repeat shoplifter stole more than $3K in merchandise

Bradley Cramer

A four-time convicted shoplifter is accused of taking more than $3,600 in merchandise over several days at a Butler Township store last month, authorities said.

Butler Township police charged Bradley S. Cramer, 31, of Butler on Wednesday with a felony count of retail theft and a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property in connection with the incidents between Sept. 6 and 16 at the Target at the Butler Commons shopping plaza.

During the investigation of the alleged thefts, which occurred on five separate days, police said employees reviewed surveillance video to help identify Cramer.

He is accused of taking 15 items, some of which included five vacuums, two child car seats, two Ring doorbell cameras, three Apple TVs and a set of Sony headphones. In all, police said, the merchandise was valued at $3,671.84.

Cramer, according to court documents, has four prior shoplifting convictions and two pending shoplifting cases.

Arraignment on the Butler Township police charges is pending, authorities said. Cramer has been in the Butler County Prison since Sept. 17 when Butler police arrested him on unrelated charges, including retail theft.

He also is being held on a bench warrant and an arrest warrant out of Allegheny County.
