County pet owners brought approximately 200 dogs and cats to Alameda Park on Saturday to participate in a low-cost vaccination clinic held by the Butler County Humane Society.

Alicia Sharer, community outreach and volunteer coordinator at the humane society, said while a variety of vaccinations are available, the most popular package is the rabies shot and microchip for $25.

Parvo, distemper, Lyme disease and FVRCP vaccinations are also offered at the Alameda Park clinics. Most people brought dogs to the clinic, but several cats also received their vaccinations, Sharer said. The humane society holds the clinics monthly during temperate times of the year.Coronavirus pandemic protocols are followed at each clinic, Sharer said.Despite the pandemic restrictions, about 1,000 pets were vaccinated in 2020 through the clinics, which are held in the Alameda Park garage.Sharer said the clinics will restart in the spring.
