Rathbun 50th anniversary

Deborah and James Rathbun

James V. and Deborah K. Rathbun of Prospect will celebrate 50 years of marriage. A planned joint 50th anniversary celebration with another couple from Texas in Aruba with family and friends from the United States and Europe was postponed until 2021. A small family dinner will be held this year.

Rathbun married the former Deborah Huff on Oct. 24, 1970, at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Butler.

They have two sons, Robert (Jeanette) Rathbun of Slippery Rock and Eric Rathbun of Grove City. They also have one granddaughter, Emily.

Rathbun is a graduate of Cochranton High School and Geneva College. Mrs. Rathbun is a graduate of Butler High School.

Rathbun is a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Castle Rubber Co. as human resources manager with 26 years of service. He also retired from the Butler County Government Center with 21 years of service.

Mrs. Rathbun was a legal assistant and worked for several law firms in the Butler area for more than 40 years.

Along with spending time and vacationing with their family, the Rathbuns enjoy making annual trips to Aruba.
