Social Security belongs to people

My wife and I are both seniors receiving Social Security. I have just been made aware that some states (for example Texas) are suspending the Payroll Tax so that Trump can “juice” the economy by increasing employees take home pay, initially until the end of the year.

If elected, Trump says he will continue this theft of our funds through next year. The Payroll Tax funds the Social Security Trust Fund to pay eligible seniors.

The trust fund belongs to employed people who paid into the fund, not the federal government.

Only Congress is authorized to make such taxation changes, not the president.

Trump says he will repay shortages from the general fund. His math is as bad as his word! There is approximately $88 billion in the SS Trust Fund, the uncommitted general funds are currently $3 billion. It will take years to catch up if allowed; and, I suspect there will be substantially reduced future Social Security payments as a consequence!

I wrote my three congressman, but there has been no action to stop Trump.

Senior voters whether Republican or Democrat need to remove this president at the November polls.
