Oct. 6 — Ray E. McDonald III, 31, of Chicora was charged with taking a cell phone that its owner mistakenly left behind last month at the Speedway store on Hansen Avenue. Police recovered the Apple 7 iPhone after a traffic stop Sept. 24 on Whitestown Road.Police said McDonald was driving the car. A tip led to the traffic stop, according to a police report. He allegedly admitted he took the phone from the store the previous evening. He is charged with a misdemeanor count of theft of lost or misplaced property and receiving stolen property.

Oct. 5 — Samantha L. Graham, 31, of Butler was charged with drugged driving in connection with an August traffic stop in Slippery Rock. She was stopped around 3:10 p.m. Aug. 21 on Grove City Road.Police said they found suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following the stop, according to court documents. Graham was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results were not available.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, she is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving a vehicle with improper sunscreening.

Oct. 5 — Joshua M. Klein, 24, of New Castle was arraigned on charges he sold crack cocaine to a police informant last month during an alleged controlled drug buy in Slippery Rock. He allegedly used a cell phone to arrange the deal Sept. 27 on North Main Street.Klein is accused of selling the informant 4.1 grams of cocaine for $200, according to court documents. The suspected drugs were packaged in a small, knotted plastic bag.The defendant was arraigned on felony charges of delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility. Additionally, he was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.

1:33 a.m. Sunday — Brian K. Misner, 30, of Harrisville suffered unknown injuries after he lost control of his car, apparently after falling asleep, and struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 north in Muddy Creek Township. Police cited him for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.12:14 p.m. Saturday — A two-vehicle collision injured two people on a motorcycle in Portersville. The crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Jon D. Lyle, 56, of Pittsburgh rear-ended the cycle on Route 488 east of Route 19.Mark B. Skellie, 56, who was driving the motorcycle, and his passenger, Heather A. Skellie, 56, both of West Homestead, Allegheny County, suffered apparent injuries. She was wearing a helmet; he was not. Police cited Lyle for following too closely to another vehicle.10:22 a.m. Saturday — Two people were injured when a pickup truck collided with their motorcycle at Old Route 422 east and Game Reserve Road in Clearfield Township. Donald G. Boyle, 55, who was driving the cycle, and his passenger, Janet A. Boyle, 55, both of Butler, suffered suspected minor injuries.Janet Boyle was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for her injuries. She and Donald Boyle were both wearing helmets. The other driver, Mark D. Lawniczak, 35, of Templeton, Armstrong County, was not injured. The cycle had to be towed. Police cited Lawniczak for a stop-sign violation.4:25 p.m. Wednesday — James C. Stuchell, 50, of Karns City was injured in a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash in Oakland Township. The wreck occurred when a pickup truck driven by William M. Graham, 37, of Bruin struck the back of the vehicle that Stuchell was driving.The initial impact, according to a police report, caused Stuchell's vehicle to struck a vehicle driven by Sara E. Acre, 29, of Parker, and Acre's vehicle to hit a vehicle driven by Bowen G. Bly, 27, of Chicora.Stuchell was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. Police cited Graham for following too closely to another vehicle.Wednesday — Police charged Kenneth C. Benzo, 35, of Pittsburgh with heroin and other drug contraband stemming from a July traffic stop in Butler. He was a passenger in a car that was stopped about 12:50 a.m. July 15 on West Jefferson Street.A consent search of the car, police said, turned up an electronic scale, nine plastic straws and an empty stamp bag on the vehicle's passenger side.Benzo was taken to the Butler County Prison on an unrelated warrant. At the prison, according to court documents, he admitted that he had a bundle of heroin in his underwear. During a strip search, police said, authorities found 10 stamp bags of suspected heroin.Benzo is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
