I want to thank the Butler Eagle for running the column titled “Not Real News.”

Newspapers have always been a way for me to know what is actually true and what is opinion. Both have their places in society but should not be confused with each other.

Reliable newspapers try to report facts in articles. Most journalists feel that their reporting should be free of bias. And political opinion should be clearly marked as such.

Yes, the Butler Eagle leans conservative. That’s OK as long as facts and opinion aren’t intertwined. The Butler Eagle has shown that it can report facts and maybe help folks understand why you shouldn’t get your news from social media.
