Sept. 28 — Jeffery J. Rivers, 31, of Lyndora was charged with having crack cocaine stemming from a January traffic stop on Pillow Street. Police said that during the stop around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 14, the defendant turned over suspected crack and a crack pipe that he had on him.Rivers is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He also is charged with two stop-sign violations.Sept. 28 — Police charged Janet C. Sherkosky, 45, of Lyndora with driving a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device in connection with a traffic stop earlier in the month on Route 8 south at the Butler Tires for Less parking lot. She was pulled over around 10:45 a.m. Sept. 7 after police said she ran a red light at East Jefferson and Main streets.

Monday — Nicholas C. Ace, 37, of Lyndora was allegedly found with heroin and other drug contraband stemming from a suspicious vehicle call around 10 a.m. Sept. 23. Ace is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Tara N. Rice, 36, of Lyndora also was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the same incident.4:44 p.m. Sept. 30 — No one was injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Route 8 south in front of the Super 8 motel. The crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Michael Koller, 66, of Portage, Ind. struck a vehicle driven by Ernest Kropf, 92, of Butler.Koller lost control of his vehicle after the collision, according to a police report, and collided with a vehicle driven by Lori Henderson, 54, of Butler. All three vehicles had to be towed.12:10 a.m. Sept. 29 — Brenna Larbreck, 25, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County lost control of her car when it hydroplaned on Route 422 east and traveled down an embankment. Larbreck was not injured, but her car had to be towed.

7:17 p.m. Monday — William N. Hewlett, 79, of Cranberry Township lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a concrete barrier while traveling the Interstate 79 off-ramp in Cranberry Township. He was not injured.Monday — Police reported they are investigating a case of suspected identity theft after a 58-year-old Bruin woman discovered an unauthorized line of credit for a cell phone account on her credit report. According to police, someone opened the account in January 2019.10:24 p.m. Sunday — A 35-year-old Armstrong County woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on Route 68 and Main Street in Connoquenessing Township.Police did not release the name of the Worthington woman. Charges are pending lab results.4:12 p.m. Sunday — An unknown suspected burglar hurried out a basement door after apparently being surprised when employees for an Ohio company walked into a home on Pine Drive in Center Township.The employees, who work for a suburban Cleveland firm that secures and maintains financially troubled and foreclosed homes for lenders and loan servicers, entered the house and saw the intruder rush out the door wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.6:08 p.m. Friday — Heather Kuhrt, 36, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after two witnesses reported seeing a woman slumped over in a vehicle at a stop sign on Evans Road at Henricks Road in Center Township.6:48 a.m. Sept. 29 — A car driven by Ross W. Moser, 20, of Parker slid off rain-soaked Bruin Road in Parker Township and struck a rock embankment and two mailboxes. He was not injured, but his car had to be towed. Police cited Moser for driving too fast for conditions.1:10 a.m. Sept. 29 — A car driven by Nicole E. Richards, 21, of Cranberry Township struck a guardrail on Watters Station Road about one-half mile east of Marburger Road in Forward Township. She was not injured. Police cited her for disregarding traffic lanes.
