Music series offered 'Live from Elm Court'

The Butler County Symphony Association has announced a new online music festival/concert series, “Live from Elm Court” sponsored by the new Frederick R. Koch Foundation.

Koch owned Elm Court, located in Butler, before his death in February.

At one of the most beautiful and least-known private homes in America, Pennsylvania's 1929 Elm Court, the foundation has assembled an extraordinary group of professional vocalists, pianists and actors to perform chamber music from a variety of sources including opera, Broadway, theater and dance.

The results of these people getting to perform for the first time in months is electric. Among other sources, the musicians drew upon the vast collection of original musical manuscripts Frederick R. Koch donated to Yale and other institutions during his lifetime.

In all, the foundation recorded enough performances to be broadcast on YouTube Live, for free, starting at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Nov. 5.

Anyone may sign up for a free subscription to the Live from Elm Court YouTube page — the concerts will be broadcast on that page every Thursday night.

After each concert is streamed, it will be available perpetually at the same link.
