Prentice's big night lifts NC

Throws for 4 TDs, runs for 2 more in win

It was quite a night for Joey Prentice.

The North Catholic quarterback threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 114 yards and two scores as the Trojans rolled to a 55-7 win over Derry.

Prentice threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter alone.

He found Jaren Thimons on a 10-yard strike, Nick Maher for a 19-yard score and Tyler Maziarz for a 58-yard touchdown.

Prentice later found Maher again on a 52-yard touchdown.

Prentice scored on runs of 6 and 52 yards. His last TD of the game put North Catholic up 48-7.

Maher caught four passes for 112 yards.

Kyle Pipinski and Jay Siket also had touchdown runs for North Catholic.

Union/A-C Valley 37, Brockway 7 — Tanner Merwin rushed for two touchdowns and also threw for one in leading the Falcon Knights to a season-opening rout.

Merwin was 6-of-12 passing for 57 yards and also rushed seven times for 72 yards.

Merwin's touchdown pass went to Karter Vogle from 18 yards out.

Eli Penny returned an interception for a touchdown for Union/A-C Valley. He also had five tackles and a tackle for a loss.

Laura Greb and Brooke Bauer each won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 to lead Knoch to a 4-1 win over Seneca Valley.
