COVID-19 Regional Update

A state report Thursday attributed another 12 confirmed COVID cases to Butler County.

According to Thursday's report by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Butler County's confirmed case count is 649, which represents the total since the beginning of the pandemic. Sixteen Butler County residents have died due to complications from the virus.

Both Wednesday and Thursday, the county added 31 cases, but a widely publicized delay in testing results could be to blame.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, Gov. Tom Wolf and members of hold a news conference regarding a report from the Health Disparity Task Force.

The following numbers on the coronavirus pandemic were compiled from regular news releases from the state Department of Health.
