ZELIENOPLE — Matt DeSalvo tossed a four-hit shutout and struck out seven Tuesday night as Mars blanked Cranberry, 12-0, in Game 2 of the Eagle County baseball finals.

Scott Ventura had a double, single and three RBI, Jim Pasquini a homer and single, Dan Pemberton two doubles for Mars (16-1 in regular season).

Mars won Game 1, 12-11, in eight innings. The game was suspended by darkness Monday and was completed Tuesday. Rick Devereaux and Ventura had three singles each.

Ventura drew a bases-loaded walk to end the game.

Game 3 of the best-of-five series is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Zelienople Community Park.
