COVID-19 UPDATE 8/12: 1 new death reported, 19 new confirmed cases in Butler County

Butler County Wednesday added another death due to COVID-19 on Wednesday and added 19 confirmed cases, according to state data.

According to Wednesday's report by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the county's death toll rose to 16, reflecting one new death to a county resident due to complications for COVID-19.

The report also listed the county's total of confirmed cases at 637 since the pandemic began, reflecting a 19 case increase since Tuesday.

A report by Butler Health System on Wednesday did not list any recent deaths at either Butler Memorial Hospital or Clarion Hospital. Deaths are recorded based on the person's permanent residence.
