SRU library adjusts hours, access

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University is taking special safety measures at its Bailey Library this fall to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Students can expect slight adjustments to the hours and physical environment when the library opens for the fall semester Aug. 17.

Online resources, such as the library's catalog and Discovery Search, remain available to faculty, staff and students 24/7, but the facility's hours of operations will be adjusted to 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays. While the library will be cleaned throughout the week, it will be closed Saturdays for extensive sanitization.

Consumption of food and beverages will be prohibited, except in a designated area with vending machines. T&B Naturally, the cafe inside the library, will be closed.

Additionally, access to the third floor, the designated “quiet space” where most of the library's physical materials and stacks are located, will be by appointment only.
