Motorcyclist flown to hospital after accident in Muddy Creek Township

Traffic on Interstate 79 was backed up to the Route 422 exit following a two-vehicle crash between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer in Muddy Creek Township early Friday morning.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — Traffic on Interstate 79 was backed up to the Route 422 exit following a two-vehicle crash in Muddy Creek Township early Friday morning that sent one person to the hospital.

The accident, between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer, occurred just south of the Rt. 422 exit in the right southbound lane of I-79 around 8:25 a.m.

The male motorcyclist was alone on the bike and was wearing a helmet when he struck the rear of the truck, authorities said.

Authorities also said the motorcyclist was flown to a hospital and the truck driver was uninjured.

Pennsylvania State Police and Portersville Fire Department and Portersville EMS responded.
