Letters to the Editor: Hear both sides before you vote

It’s more important than ever that people vote in November, but I worry will someone or something destroy that process? I blame the Internet where anonymous people can sully, spread lies and misinformation that many people believe to be true.

I think Trump is the originator of “fake news” because he lies and denies every day to the American people. I’ve even questioned my own sanity when asking “Did he really just say that?”

To his faithful supporters, has he accomplished any of his campaign promises? Is your life any better because he’s president? He promised to “drain the swamp” by bringing in his inexperienced incompetent, wealthy “yes man” cronies while creating daily whiplash of “governing by the gut” as he calls it.

He squanders our tax dollars on golf outings and rallies while joking that he doesn’t pay taxes. The tax break he gave only the wealthy took dollars away that pay for services in your community like police, firefighters, schools, hospitals, food for the hungry and maintenance of bridges and highways.

Just think about that the next time you say you don’t care if the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.

I hope in November Trump gets the message “You’re fired” after four years of not doing his job.

Instead of getting all your news off the Internet or Fox News, also listen to your local news stations or other cable news. There’s always two sides to every story and you need to hear both sides before you vote.

Nancy Nicklas,

Connoquenessing Township
