12:20 p.m. Tuesday — Hayden H. Smith, 25, was arrested after police say he punched his brother in the face during a domestic dispute at his Mercer Street home. Police said the victim suffered redness and swelling around the mouth and upper lip.Smith was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and released on nonmonetary bail.5:42 p.m. Sunday — Chad M. Foote, 23, of Butler allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face, breaking her cheek bone, during a domestic dispute on the 300 block of Mercer Street. The victim was diagnosed with her injury at Butler Memorial Hospital.Police later obtained an arrest warrant for Foote on a felony charge of aggravated assault.

Monday — Christopher E. Abbott, 27, of Butler was charged with shoplifting earlier this month at the Sheetz store on Center Avenue. He is accused of taking $11.47 worth of food items about 10 p.m. July 8. Abbott is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.12:24 a.m. Sunday — Matthew D. Ramsey, 49, of Lyndora was found lying along Kendell Avenue in Lyndora. Police said he had suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.12:32 a.m. July 14 — Brooke R. Smith-Fair, 27, of Butler was allegedly caught with an alprazolam pill, for which she did not have a prescription, after police were called to the Days Inn on Route 8 south for a suspected overdose and people trespassing in a room. The pill was in a Ziploc bag.Smith-Fair is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Cited for defiant trespass, according to a police report, were Maxine Jacobson, 23, and Jacob Rivers, 23, both of Butler.

Monday — Police charged Ashley D. Spare, 33, of Connoquenessing Township with assaulting a woman last week in East Butler. The incident happened about 8:50 p.m. July 15 at the alleged victim's home on the 400 block of Broadway Avenue.Police said the victim had visible injuries to her face and arm. Spare also is accused of damaging a front door and storm door at the home, according to court documents. She is charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.12:19 p.m. July 17 — Joshua K. Glenn, 28, of Oakland Township was arrested on charges he broke into a home on Seven Hills Road in Oakland Township. Police said he admitted that he kicked the storm door open and got inside to look for someone he knew there. Damage to the door was estimated at $250.District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Glenn on felony charges of burglary and trespass, misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, and a summary charge of harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bond, with the conditions that if he is released, he be placed on house arrest and submit to drug testing.July 17 — Jessica L. Cartwright, 40, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted and injured a man during a domestic dispute at home on Gameland Road in Donegal Township. The victim, according to court documents, suffered cuts and bruises on his right forearm and scratches inside his mouth.Cartwright was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. She is free on nonmonetary bail.12:40 a.m. July 8 — A 53-year-old Butler man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Charges are pending and police did not release the man's name.July 8 — Samuel W. Magill, 39, of Brady Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash last month in Center Township. Police said they were called around 5 p.m. June 18 for the wreck on South Benbrook Road.A Butler Ambulance Service paramedic was treating Magill when police arrived there. His pickup truck was down an embankment and badly damaged. The defendant was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed he had multiple unspecified controlled substances in his system, according to court documents.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.11:09 p.m. July 7 — A Missouri woman was arrested for DUI after a two-vehicle crash on the 700 block of Franklin Road in Slippery Rock Township. Neither the defendant, Chloe E. Stack, 26, of Springfield, nor the other driver, Janet Waag, 52, of Slippery Rock, was apparently injured.Stack is charged with DUI, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.

8:51 p.m. Sunday — Jesse Veronie, 24, of Jeannette, Westmoreland County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on the 600 block of Montgomery Road in East Franklin Township.2:13 p.m. July 13 — A car driven by Joseph Dormier, 19, of Monroeville, Allegheny County, struck another car as he attempted to change lanes on Route 28 north at exit 18 in South Buffalo Township. Michael D. Phillips, 29, of Kittanning was the other driver. No one was injured.

July 10 — Items worth a combined $16,100 were reported stolen from an excavating business on the 1300 block of Route 19 in Springfield Township. The owner, a 34-year-old man, told police the property was taken sometime over the past three weeks.Two of the stolen items included a hydraulic jack hammer, valued at $8,000, and a Ford catalytic converter, valued at $4,000. Police said they have no suspects, leads or security camera footage. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.
