Monday — Brandon P. Anthony, 32, of Summit Township was charged with attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill in May at a downtown store. Police said they were called for the incident around 5 p.m. May 7 at the Rite Aid on South Main Street.Anthony is charged with forgery, a felony.

6:27 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Joshua Stutz, 30, and a car driven by Christopher Bell, 38, both of Butler collided at Route 68 and South Duffy Road. No one was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Stutz for failing to stop at a red light.7:12 p.m. Monday — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck at New Castle Road and Route 68. The crash occurred when a rental car driven by Athena Tompai, 30, of Butler, headed west on New Castle Road and crossed to the eastbound lane at the intersection.Police noted that Tompai at the time was using a hand-held electronic device, which caused her to be distracted. Paul Weir, 48, of Zelienople swerved his sport utility vehicle, traveling on New Castle Road to avoid colliding with Tompai's car.The car struck the rear of the SUV and continued into the utility trailer being towed by the SUV, according to a police report.The car proceeded west in the eastbound lane and struck a car driven by Morgan Tupper, 19, of Butler. Weir and his passenger, Susan Rayburn, 45, of Zelienople, both suffered minor injuries.According to a police report, during the investigation Tompai was found with suspected heroin and other drug contraband. Additionally, the report noted, the rental car she was driving was leased to someone else.Police said Tompai is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations.

12:48 a.m. Wednesday — A Michigan woman was arrested for drugged driving following a traffic stop for a broken taillight on West Jefferson Street in Butler. The defendant, Tiffany E. Elliott, 40, of Traverse City, told police that she had snorted heroin “yesterday,” according to court documents.Police said they found an empty stamp bag on the driver's side floor of her car. She also allegedly had a glass smoking pipe and other drug contraband in her bra. She allegedly refused to submit to a blood test.Elliott was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving and having a faulty rear light. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond following arraignment.Monday — Police reported they are investigating a case of criminal mischief July 4 at the Lake Arthur Campground on West Liberty Road in Brady Township, where someone fired a gunshot that damaged a water filtration system.Monday — Police charged Derek E. Morter, 32, of Butler with having a suspected crack cocaine pipe in connection with a traffic stop around 12:50 a.m. May 30 on the 200 block of North Chestnut Street in Butler.Morter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.12:29 p.m. Sunday — A Beaver County woman was seriously injured when the sport utility vehicle she was driving became airborne after hitting a utility pole along Route 488 in Portersville. The SUV ended on its roof in a field, trapping Ruth A. Malburg, 67, of Fombell.Portersville volunteer firefighters had to extricate Malburg, who was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with serious injuries.8:01 Saturday — A Virginia man was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 south in Jackson Township. The wreck occurred when Clifford D. Fillhart Jr., 64, of Prospect, Va., lost control of his car in the passing lane.The car subsequently struck a van driven by Jacob E. Kristophel, 33, of Volant, Lawrence County that was in the right lane. The van traveled off the road, causing it to slide sideways over an embankment and overturn.Police said the car, following the collision, struck a guardrail on the eastern side of the road before bouncing off and traveling back on the highway, hitting a dump truck driven by Robert H. Lane, 64, of Ambridge, Beaver County.Fillhart, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:40 a.m. Saturday — A tractor-trailer driven by Christopher W. Hill, 34, of Altoona, Blair County, crashed on Route 422 west just east of East Butler Road in Summit Township. Hill and his passenger, Justis A. Updike, 26, of Portage, Cambria County, both suffered minor injuries. Hill was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.Police cited Hill for careless driving.1:34 a.m. July 10 — Richard E. Taylor III, 50, was arrested after he allegedly bit a woman's tongue during a reported domestic incident at his home on Main Hill Road in Petrolia. The 44-year-old victim suffered a bleeding tongue.Taylor was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and later released on his own recognizance.July 10 — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Lincoln P. Madigan, 27, of Clay Township stemming from the suspected 2019 theft of an all-terrain vehicle in Clay Township.Police said the victim reported Madigan took the Yamaha quad Aug. 29 from his home on Webb Road. He told police that he and the defendant previously had entered into a deal in which Madigan could take the ATV if he cut wood for the owner.According to court documents, the victim recounted that Madigan came to his home unannounced and took the ATV. The owner said he later made multiple attempts to contact the suspect to ask for compensation for the vehicle, but to no avail. The victim told police that Madigan never paid him or cut any wood, in accordance with their prior deal.Madigan is charged with third-degree felony theft.5:06 p.m. July 9 — A motorcyclist was not injured when he laid his Suzuki Esteem down while traveling on Mushroom Farm Road just west of Cornetti Road in Winfield Township. Police did not release the man's name. He was able to drive his cycle from the scene.

7:20 a.m. Tuesday — No one was injured when a box truck crashed into a utility pole and a house on Kelly's Way in East Brady. The driver, Kevin R. Thomas, 34, of East Pittsburgh was cited for careless driving, disregarding traffic lane and an equipment violation.
