Protester had right to fear armed citizen

On the Eagle editorial page, a letter, “Fear over Zelienople Protest Misplaced,” blasted a protester who had fear of an armed citizen. Why is this fear so hard for the writer to understand?

How could anyone know that the gun-carrying person was not a “nut,” someone planning to take the law, as they saw it, into their own hands to do harm?

Because he was a known person, because he was a neighbor, someone who “looked” OK?

Come on, being careful around any firearm is sensible. Being uncomfortable should not be surprising. Being wary is smart. These protesters —marchers were exercising their right and everyone is right of free speech and assembly. One constitutional right does not cancel another.
