Butler County Farm Show canceled

The Butler County Farm Show has been canceled.

In a letter to the fair's supporters, Ken Laughlin, president of the Butler Farm Show board of directors, said the board canceled the event because of the requirements in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was scheduled for Aug. 10-15.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly,” Laughlin said.

Laughlin said restrictions imposed by Gov. Tom Wolf and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would have hindered the farm show's experience to an intolerable degree.

“As always, we appreciate your continued support of the Butler Farm Show,” Laughlin said. “We ask that you continue to support us as we grieve and move forward with next year's plans for the Butler Farm Show, the future of the agriculture in the community and youth programs in Butler County.”
