8:52 a.m. Wednesday — Austin J. Rusch, 25, was arrested on charges he injured his girlfriend and their 1-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute at their home on the 400 block of Virginia Avenue.

The woman told police that while she was holding the infant, she and Rusch got into an argument, according to court documents, and he flipped the mattress she and the child were laying on. The infant struck her head and back off of the window next to the bed, causing bruising.

The woman also had bruising and redness on her arms, stemming from the incident.

Rusch was arraigned on a felony charge of child endangerment and two misdemeanor counts of simple assault. He was released on nonmonetary bail following arraignment.

8:41 p.m. Wednesday — Thomas E. Snyder, 32, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during a domestic dispute at their home on the 100 block of Freeport Road. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Snyder was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and he was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bond.

12:09 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Alexis Thiel, 22, of Harrisville rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on New Castle Road near the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. Samantha Tobin, 24, of Butler was the other driver.

No one was injured, but Thiel’s car had to be towed. Police cited Thiel for driving too fast for conditions.
