On Thursday, Butler Area School District confirmed it will continue its food service program through the summer.

Earlier this month, the USDA extended waivers that would allow meals for children to continue.

According to a statement posted by the district office, if children are already receiving meals, their parents do not have to do anything else. Their children will continue to receive food service through the summer.

If children are not currently receiving food service, and their parents would like for them to, complete and submit the request form on the district's website.

The Butler district is not alone in extending food service programs.

South Butler County School District has also pledged to extend its food programs into the summer.
