Martin 100th birthday
Juanita Martin of P.O. Box 161, North Washington, Pa. 16048-0161 would like to celebrate her 100th birthday June 4 with a card shower.
The former Juanita DeVault was born June 4, 1920, in McKeesport.
She married Gilbert McGarvey in December 1944 and lived in Texas when he served in the Air Force. He died in 1954.
She married Kenneth “Ken” Martin Dec. 26, 1956. He died in 2011.
She has one son, Gilbert “Gib” McGarvey of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Martin taught school for 26 years before retiring from the Moniteau School District where she taught first grade.
She enjoyed snow skiing, golf, bowling and bridge.
She was a member of the North Washington Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary where she served as president.
She is active in the North Washington Presbyterian Church.
