A motorcycle and a car were involved in an accident in front of the Super 8 hotel on Route 8 in Butler Township at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Township police said the car pulled out from the hotel lot and turned north, and two men on motorcycles were traveling south. The car and one of the bikes collided, police said.

The man riding the bike was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. The extent of his injuries was not known.

The Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and Butler Fire Department also responded.

The southbound lanes were closed and northbound traffic was detoured through the Days Inn parking lot for about a half hour until the damaged motorcycle was hauled from the scene.
