Butler schools provide education options for 2020-21 school year

Butler Area School District parents and students can select their preferred method of instruction for the 2020-21 school year from three “learning pathways” options.

The options are traditional school with technology integration, online/cyber school and a hybrid model. The hybrid model is only available to high school students.

In the traditional scenario, students attend school Monday through Friday following traditional hours unless directed otherwise by the state or a local emergency that prevents the normal operation of school.

The online/cyber scenario allows students to learn online. Students will not be expected to attend school in person. All of their classes will take place remotely. Online/Cyber School will not be the same as it was during the spring 2020 school closure. The improved program includes a new online/cyber education platform to help deliver effective online instruction.

In the hybrid scenario, students will take classes in person at school and online. A student could take chemistry in person at the senior high and take the rest of his or her courses online. Customized transportation will not be provided.
