Sheetz removes self-serve items
Sheetz announced Monday its convenience stores eliminated self-serve coffee and beverages, as well as the availability of bakery items to help stem the spread of the coronavirus.
Coffee is now available by ordering through the touch-screens or by customers asking an employee to serve them.
Self-serve beverages like fountain drinks, fresh brewed tea, frozen drinks and F’Real milkshakes have also been suspended, according to a news release.
Sheetz has also temporarily suspended offering items in the bakery section, like doughnuts and muffins.
“Sheetz is doing everything we can to prioritize the health and well-being of our team members, customers and the communities we serve as the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve,” said Travis Sheetz, president and COO of the Altoona-based company.
There are several Sheetz locations in and around Butler County.
