'To go' meals offered
Food at free community meals in the city will now be served to go.
“One free bagged meal will be provided per person at the regularly scheduled meal locations,” according to a news release received Monday morning.
The change comes in reaction to the novel coronavirus 2019 pandemic.
“Trying to keep our clients safe and our volunteers safe, we have to go to this way of distributing meals,” said Justine Brown, kitchen manager for Katie’s Kitchen. “Things could change.”
