2:21 a.m. Monday — Police said they caught Lynne R. Petrone, 57, of Butler with a crack pipe following a traffic stop on the 300 block of East Jefferson Street. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle and failing to use turn signals.

3:14 p.m. Friday — Bryan A. Perri, 31, of Butler was allegedly found with drug contraband during a consent search on West Penn Street near North Washington Street.

Police said they seized a capped syringe in one of his pants pockets and three plastic baggies in another pants pocket. Perri is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — Bryan S. Edinger, 50, of Mars was charged with breaking into the Edwards’ Soft Serve ice cream shop on New Castle Road in May 2019. He is charged with trespass and criminal mischief.

Wednesday — Police charged a Crawford County man with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop around 11:05 p.m. Feb. 20 after his vehicle nearly struck the center barrier on the Picklegate Bridge on Hansen Avenue. Timothy A. Mailliard, 49, of Cochranton is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

2:31 p.m. March 3 — A 16-year-old boy who escaped from the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility allegedly started a fire at Colony Apartments on Carrie Way, which led to an evacuation of the building. No injuries were reported.

Police did not release the name of the teenager, who they believe had been hiding out in the building. He fled after starting the fire, according to a police report. He was captured near George Junior Road and Route 208.

The investigation also found that the boy stole packages that had been delivered to the apartment building during the past two days. He is charged in Mercer County juvenile court with arson, reckless endangerment and theft.

Tuesday — David A. Wymer, 20, of Penn Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic incident last month that began in Penn Township. Police said they spotted Wymer’s car around 4 a.m. Feb. 22 on Rockdale Road with dark tinted windows.

Wymer sped up after police got behind the car, and at one point he turned off the headlights to avoid arrest, according to court documents, after eventually turning onto Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township.

Police said Wymer turned the lights back on when he turned onto Hannahstown Road. Troopers found the car and Wymer on South Rebecca Street in Saxonburg. He subsequently was taken for a blood test, which allegedly showed he had marijuana in his system.

Wymer is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest, driving with obstructed windows, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.

Police said Wymer’s passenger, Austin G. Heade, 20, of Jefferson Township, was found with a marijuana pipe. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:57 p.m. Monday — Scott R. Potochny, 53, of Lyndora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Muranko Lane and Route 8 in Penn Township. Charges are pending, police said.

1:54 p.m. Monday — Jonathan M. Sadler, 30, of Butler lost control of his car and struck a guardrail at Route 138 and McGregor Road in Clay Township. He was not injured. Police cited him for disregarding traffic lanes.

11:27 a.m. Monday — No one was injured when a car driven by Wendy L. Delp, 47, of Butler rear-ended a car on Route 68 just west of Center Drive in Oakland Township. Douglas J. Easley, 53, of Karns City was the other driver.

Delp’s car had to be towed. Police cited her for following too closely to another vehicle.

3 a.m. Saturday — Police said Ashley D. Rieder, 22, of Chicora fled the scene after she lost control of her car and struck a post with several mailboxes on it on Caldwell Road in Jefferson Township.

Rieder was cited for eight traffic violations: hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, leaving a vehicle improperly unattended, abandoning a vehicle on a road, driving too fast for conditions, driving on the wrong side of the road, texting while driving and careless driving.

12:12 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Lewis R. Martino, 28, of Boyers struck a traffic sign, guardrail and tree along Route 308 just north of Pleasant Valley Road in Cherry Township. Martino fled the scene of the hit-and-run crash, according to a police report. The car was later towed.
